Death by Cthulhu by yohkai Death by Cthulhu by yohkai
"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents."

Call of Cthulhu, H.P. Lovecraft

Please Full-View; but for a higher resolution I highly recommend using the download view.

Cthulhu is pleased by your obedience.

Featured on tvtropes.org and WAS going to be the cover of "Torn Realities" an anthology of Lovecraftian inspired horror stories. Notice a similarity? [link]

Personally, I am interested in combining the Cosmic Horror Story Trope with the Beware the Superman Trope.

This image is basically the final boss of Crysis 3
Now if only that game's story didn't suck so bad

I never played that series, though the youtube video has my curiosity piqued. Mind expanding on that correlation?

It's pretty simple, actually. After spending three games of on-and-off fighting with the Ceph(elopod) Aliens, the aliens manage to open a wormhole to the Triangulum Galaxy and let a planet-sized battleship through. The battleship only gets halfway through before the protagonist blows it up, and the half we do see... basically looks like your drawing here

That is truly some amazing graphics. So many possible worlds out there to think about, aren't there? Thank you so much for taking the time to share this.

You know, it's because of this piece that makes me feel that there are some parts of the cosmos that are best left undisturbed. While the universe is abundant with wonders, it may hold its own fair share of horrors. You know how far humans will go to achieve their own self-interests, and the universe will retaliate in kind by fucking us up in the ass tenfold.

I definitely feel that the universe and the earth have such mechanisms in place. Though, personally, I feel that our fear of it is only the first step toward understanding our place within that system. And understanding is the first step toward overcoming.

This piece inspired a monster in my homebrew GURPS setting.

I urge you great caution in invoking such ancient knowledge.
